Methods of study in Indian Psychology

Psychology is the science of sciences, “the greatest science”; said Swami Vivekananda. Indian schools of thought recognize pratyaksha (both experimental and intuitive), anumana (logical inferential resasoning), shabda or aptabachanam (including experiential truth of competent authority), upamana (analogy), arthapatti (presumption), and abhaba (privacy), as sources of valid knowledge. It is argued that the methods of Indian Psychology encompass all the methods of modern psychological sciences.
